History

Winemaker Mihai Banita use a combination of old world winemaking techniques and modern tehnology to make wines that reflect the unique characteristics of individual vineyards or ”terroir” where specific varietals grow best. The fusion of superb vineyard sites and thoughtful winemaking allows LacertA to deliver elegant, expressive wines.

Vinification

Picked only upon perfect polyphenolic ripenins of the grapes, by hand, in boxes then carefully selected. They are then de-stemmed and left with the skins in stainless steel tank to a cold pre-fermentation for 2-3 days at 8-10℃. After starting alcoholic fermentation at 26-30℃for 2-3 weeks. Malolactic fermentation subsequently takes place with natural bacteria. The wine was aging only in bottles.
