History
The gentle south-facing Hochstrass vineyard is one of the top vineyards in Hohenwarth and runs from the Hohenwarth church towards Radlbrunn. If you take a look from the hill of this picturesque vineyard, you will quickly understand the special nature of the terrace. The predominantly loess soil with traces of calcareous clay is very fertile, permeable and warm. Deeply rooted, the vines feel visibly at home in the surf zone of the ancient Danube. The best conditions for delicate and elegant Grüner Veltliner. The great geological and climatic potential of the Hochstrass vineyard was discovered as early as 1977 and the Grüner Veltliner was awarded gold.
